Peter the Great founded St. Petersburg and called the entrance to the Baltic Sea a "Window to Europe." In memory of this historical event, which is connected directly with the birth of one of the great cities of the world, I propose to construct a monument in the form of a window frame that appears to rest on the surface of the Gulf of Finland.
The proportions of the design of the frame represent the "Golden Ratio" (also known as "Divine Proportion"), a harmonious link to the classical beginnings of our city.
Standing 300-500 meters from the shoreline, "The Window" faces West and the stainless steel surface reflects like a mirror the sky and waters of the Gulf of Finland.
Medium: Stainless Steel, Concrete
